I think it's "funny" that, despite all of the male privilege going around at the expense of the women, the men still have some knowledge deep down that mistreating their wives is wrong. Now if only they'd listen to that voice inside them harder and more frequently (instead of obeying it only when a woman has a threat to wave at her husband's nose). Thanks a lot for these blogs, Ms. Jones!

So inspiring and touching and heartbreaking at times. I can't help wondering though about the "after", once the cameras will be gone... What could we do so the enthusiasm does not abate and, more important, the changes slowly put into place remain changes? How can we, us women from the other side of the world, make our sisters' voices continue to be heard? Gifts of money have never resolved much in Africa, at least on the long term. What you are doing Ann is wonderful... how can we help you so you continue to be a voiceful witness?

Hello Ladies, We are overjoyed to hear about the changes. My sons are smiling at hearing about this recent news. We want to go out and celebrate. :)

My sons would still like to provide guard duty but how would people react to another People that are neither Christian or Muslim? Traditional Native Americans believe that the Earth is alive and we are all connected, we are One. Everything has a Spirit.

I taught my sons to follow the 7 Teachings, Wisdom, Courage, Truth, Humility, Honesty, Love & Respect in all areas of their Life & Good Medicine will follow.

We are very happy & wish we could celebrate with you. Also, my sons shyly say that the ladies, 'are very Beautiful and the Husbands should be very proud and protect their Community and families.' It is something that some Anishanbes still do. Would using Snail Mail and developing Friendships, help strengthen and continue the positive changes? :) Let us know! Thank you AJ!

Dear Ann, Each blog that I read leaves me stunned. It is one thing to know that bad things happen to good people (especially women and children)all over the world and another to actually see and read about them. When my daughter first left to work with you, I wondered what kind of a long term positive effect in the lives of these women have by taking pictures? After reading these blogs and talking with her I am left speechless. Like it has been stated: A picture is worth a thousand words!

So many of us always feel what can one person do? People like you are the example of how we all should help out. Sure I donate to charities (Feed the Children, Homeless Shelters, etc.)and although it never feels like I am doing enough, I know that if enough of us get together to help those amazing individuals like yourself we all can truly make a difference in peoples lives.

If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I would love to invite you to do a presentation at the college I work at. Please contact me and thank you, bless you for the woman you are!

It is just like using a tape recorder on people who are lying: suddenly they are "good" again.
Ann Jones, how did you know to give the women knowledge of how to use a camera?????
And how good is the camera you use as well as the ones the women used? These photos are extraordinarily good quality !!!

If the women can tell a translator to not come back and if a chief offered his reception hall to the women for their meeting, then something must be changing on some level !!
