Ann

Thsi is really a great thing that you're doing. With these programs addressing both violence and needs against women, I'm sure the impact is tremendous on many people's minds.Thank you; you are an insperaton to us all.

My own son, 17. asks me, why don't the Men who oppose such atrocities against Women, gather & stand up together to provide Protection? Fear of Death shouldn't be a issue because they would die doing a fantastic deed & be remembered as a Hero by the very Women they protect. Get these Men to write Biographies if necessary & Cenotaphs should be erected to Honor such Men. We are Native American, we understand, cry & pray that those in Power will also share this Pain they choose to ignore.

Thank you for the extensive coverage of violence against women in Ivory Coast. It pains to realise that as African we go to extremes to punish our mothers, wives and sisters just because they are women. We need to review our societal values and see whether we are contributing to it by expecting too much from the boy child. The value system we inculcate in the boy child will manifest itself with the way he will treat women when he grows up. When a woman is not safe in a society the future is bleak. In my country Kenya violence against women has reared its ugly head now targetting women candidates who express interest in a Parliamentary or Civic seat for the General Election to be held towards the end of December. Lets unite against this enemy. Thanks IRC.

Thank you again for helping me to see the good work that IRC is doing to help the women and others of the Ivory Coast. I donate to IRC, but am presently unemployed. Hope to start up with donating soon, when I start working once again. Blessings on the GBV project!
Peace, Tom

I am grateful that this message is being delivered to the world. I am sorry I have no money to send. I have no job---again.
I fails to escape me that the United Nations has an expanded definition and perception of "women's rights" and the current US government/administration and its supporters have a bad attitude toward the UN.
There are many many many ways to oppress human beings and to blame the victims.
